After sporting thinning hair for a couple of decades, Jason Alexander’s thatch suddenly started looking denser and thicker. This left people wondering whether the George Costanza of Seinfeld has undergone surgical hair transplant or he has started getting his hair back naturally in his 50s, something that has never happened before in the history of mankind. Are you also curious to know the truth behind Alexander’s mysterious hair? Continue reading…
While a vast majority of George Contanza’s fans and critics was convinced that the 55-year-old American comedian has had hair transplant, Costanza used Twitter to share his story. On his twitter @IJasonAlexander, the American actor and comedian revealed that he started losing hair during his teenage – when he was just 17. However, he was grateful to Androgenic Alopecia, as it was bald head that helped him start his acting career with a character of an older man.
But overtime, it was the baldness that started becoming a bit of professional issue, as his bald scalp started reflecting stage lights and thus becoming a distraction for not only him and his tea, but also his audience. So after discussing with his wife, Alexander decided to put some hair back on. But the couple was not in favor of getting a surgical hair transplant. So the Seinfeld star went for a hairpiece. Costanza also revealed that he had his hairpiece specially designed by a designer, with an aim to restore a look of a guy who has just started losing his hair from the frontal part.
A hairpiece is no doubt a non-surgical solution that does not need any incision, cut or punch. But this is the only benefit of a hairpiece, wig or a toupee on surgical hair transplant. Otherwise, a hairpiece is nothing more than a temporary solution. It is not something growing out of your own scalp. It will in any case remain a foreign body attached to your scalp, which needs to be maintained and also replaced quite often, and above all, wigs and hairpieces look extremely fake.
A hair transplant, on the other hand, does not require any maintenance, and if done properly the transplanted hair will continue to grow like other hair on your head. Since the transplanted hair will be taken from the baldness resistant areas – back of the head or your temples – they never fall out.
